I’m happy to announce that this past Saturday, ChannelAdvisor shipped its April release. One of the major items released was Shop.com CPC Support in the US and the UK!

This new CPC model allows customers to take advantage of Shop.com ’s traffic and treat it like a traditional comparison shopping engine rather than a marketplace.

To my knowledge (and if you can’t trust a Google/News/Blog search, who can you trust?), we’re the first third-party to announce support for this. We’re seeing substantial interest in this new, easy to use channel from Shop.com and believe this immediately vaults their site into the “top tier” of paid comparison shopping engines in the US. Did I mentioned we added support for our UK customers as well?

The same feed supports either the existing Shop.com marketplace (CPO) or the cost-per-click offering. The customer’s relationship with Shop.com determines which solution they are a part of. Here’s some more information from Shop.com directly about their different programs.

Despite concerns over the credit crunch, recent sub-prime mortgage debacle and potential downturn in the UK property market, people are still spending money. And whilst high street retailers are predicting the worst Christmas on record, the online world is reaping the rewards.

According to the Interactive Media in Retail Group (IMRG), today December 10^th was the busiest online shopping day EVER! (hopefully not the case – I’m sure next year will be even bigger), with sales upwards of £370 million, almost three times the average daily amount spent online during the rest of the year.

The report suggests that 40 percent of these sales were conducted outside of normal shopping hours and sales peaked between 11-12am with sales of £32.4 million.

The IMRG estimate that online shoppers will spend a staggering £17.6 billion this Christmas, an 82 percent increase on the previous year and contributing to a total online spend of £53.3 billion over the full year.

Ironically, industry insiders are crediting uncertainty in the financial and property markets for such unprecedented growth in online sales, suggesting that consumers are abandoning the high street in favour of Internet Retailers believing the medium offers the most competitive prices as well as the most convenient way of shopping.

eBay announced a 10p Listing Day promotion on Thursday, November 29th, for all items with PayPal enabled (which should be everything you have anyway):

For the entire day of Thursday 29th November 2007 GMT Time, sellers who list one or more items in an eligible category using the Auction-style, Auction-with-Buy It Now or Buy It Now Only (Fixed Price) formats and offer PayPal as a payment method will pay a 10 pence Insertion Fee per item they list.

No starting price exceptions, eBay Motors “Parts & Accessories” is in, SIF is out. Any fees for listing upgrades still apply (as usual). Check the fine print for more important details.
Bets are already on that we’re going to see another listing promotion before Christmas.
