Well, we’ve just about (but not quite!) recovered from the first ChannelAdvisor Insite event of 2007 which took place yesterday in central London.
Over 30 UK online retailers joined ChannelAdvisor and Google (who were Platinum Sponsors) for an information-packed day of presentations, discussions and workshops about the current opportunities for online retailers in the UK.
The day started with a look at recent UK eCommerce Trends followed by an introduction to the fundamentals drivers of success on marketplaces (such as eBay and Amazon Merchants@), shopping comparison websites and paid search campaigns.
After lunch the group then split into two ’streams’ to dive into some more advanced strategies for optimising each of these channels in preparation for the rapidly-approaching Q4 busy season. Attendees also got the opportunity to hear first-hand from Aidan O’Curry and Richard Keelty from Google Europe about how Google Checkout and Google Product Search can drive more sales and reduce costs for online retailers.
A big thanks to our sponsors: Google (Platinum), PayPal (Gold), Cybersource (Gold) and FOEB (Silver) without whom the Insite series of events wouldn’t be able to happen. We look forward to the next events up in Manchester on the 5th September, and then on to Glasgow, Birmingham and finally Dublin.
If you were at the event yesterday - thanks for coming - we’d love to hear your comments!

Back by popular demand, we’re excited to announce the expanded 2007 series of ‘ChannelAdvisor Insite‘ conferences, taking place in cities all over the UK and Ireland this summer.
If you’re an online retailer, planning your strategy for Q4 and beyond, then take a day away from the distractions of the office, and come to one of these highly informative one-day events.
Join ChannelAdvisor and industry experts, and your peers as we focus on some of the most effective strategies and techniques for boosting sales and improving the profitability of your online business. We will cover topics such as eBay, Amazon Seller Central, Google Checkout, PayPal Express Checkout, Paid Search Marketing and Shopping Comparison engines and, with a combination of presentations and workshops, equip you with the tools required to go back to your business and make an immediate impact.
This summer we shall be visiting a total of six cities with the Insite event - starting in Bristol on the 16th August, then London, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and finally Dublin in mid-October.
And, thanks to generous sponsorship by Google (Gold), Cybersource and the FOEB (Silver), we are able to keep the cost to a minimum - only £49 + VAT per person for a full 8-hour day of learning! I think you’ll agree this represents tremendous value-for-money - in fact, as we’re limiting places to 25 delegates per event, we expect all six events to be oversubscribed. So if you’re interested in taking your online business to the next level this Christmas, be sure to sign up straight away and reserve your place.
Here’s a link to the official Insite website where you can see more details on the agenda and register to attend. Hey, why not bring someone else from your company as well so you can bounce ideas off each other during the day and take action when you’re back in the office?

We’re delighted to be back at the lectern for the upcoming eBay University event in London.
This coming Saturday, ChannelAdvisor will be presenting a 45 minute session titled ‘Advanced eBay Strategies‘ to an audience of over 300 professional eBay sellers in central London.
Here’s the official synopsis from the eBay website:
“The team from ChannelAdvisor will share some advanced strategies and best practices, as used by some of the most successful Platinum and Titanium PowerSellers, that will help you overtake and then stay ahead of the pack. Based on over six years of experience helping some of the world’s most successful eBay businesses, the information and tools ChannelAdvisor will introduce you to will help you maximise the profitability of your eBay business and avoid some of the common mistakes. The lunchtime session is always entertaining and informative – bring your lunch along and learn while you eat!”
The event, hosted by eBay, runs from 10am to 6pm and covers a host of interesting topics - there’s something for eBay sellers of all experience levels, from basic through to advanced PowerSellers. You can see the full timetable here.
For those of you who haven’t been to one of our presentations before, it’s worth mentioning that we love the opportunity to meet eBayers in person, hear about their plans and the challenges they face, and share some of our experiences in helping online businesses succeed.
In fact, we love it so much we usually go a little crazy and give out a ton of free stuff! To prove it, here’s a lucky guy called Simon Janssen who won our Xbox360 free prize draw at eBay’s last University event in Coventry. Simon told me afterwards that he’d never won anything before. Well, Simon - I’m glad that unlucky streak is now over..!

The good news is, this weekend in London will be no exception…! We have a new PS3 to give away this time around, together with lots of smaller prizes. So, if you’re planning on coming along, grab your lunch and learn while you eat! See you there!

Last week, Google announced a brand new version of their free website Analytics software, Google Analytics.
Jam-packed with many new features, the initial feedback from the online community has been very positive. But, what are the most important changes and how can you, as an online retailer, really make the most of the new functionality?

To help answer that question, ChannelAdvisor will be co-hosting a free web seminar (webinar) with Phil Walford from the Google Analytics team. During this 45 minute webinar, Phil will guide you through some of the most exciting and useful new functionality and give you flavour for what is possible with this upgraded version. There will also be the chance to ask your own questions to Phil at the end of the webinar.
Please join us at 2pm GMT / 9am EST on Friday 25th May by registering here and be among the first in the UK to harness the power of Google Analytics v2.
p.s. if you use ChannelAdvisor Stores website solution then the new version of Analytics is already integrated and ready to go……!
