Whew - 2008! I hope everyone had a great trip into the new year and recovered from a wild holiday shopping season. 2007 was a big year for many of our customers that mastered (automated) existing online eCommerce channels and expanded into new ones (add’l CSEs, paid search campaigns, new marketplaces). It was also a good year for ChannelAdvisor with cool new products (big shout out to the kick-*** ShoppingAdvisor team) and joining forces with Marketworks.

We’ve anticipated your “Enough dwelling on the past already” and painstakingly created a list of New Year’s Resolutions that should be on your list if you’re ready to turn the dial on your business to 11 in 2008 (I’ll never get tired of Spinal Tap references). (more…)

It’s our prediction that 2008 will be the ‘year of the DSRs (Detailed Seller Ratings - Feedback 2.0) and as an early New Year’s gift, ChannelAdvisor Labs has announced DSRWatch gratis for all eBay Sellers.  DSRWatch will look up any seller’s DSRs in real-time to 2 decimal points.  Additionally you can have DSRWatch alert you when your eBay DSRs change (positive or negative).  With eBay looking at advantaging and disadvantaging sellers based on DSRs, they will become extremely important to seller’s in 2008 and the only way eBay gives you to see your DSRs is on your feedback profile by stars, with a mouse-over that shows your DSRs to one decimal place.Try it out and let us know what you think.

eBay announced a 10p Listing Day promotion on Thursday, November 29th, for all items with PayPal enabled (which should be everything you have anyway):

For the entire day of Thursday 29th November 2007 GMT Time, sellers who list one or more items in an eligible category using the Auction-style, Auction-with-Buy It Now or Buy It Now Only (Fixed Price) formats and offer PayPal as a payment method will pay a 10 pence Insertion Fee per item they list.

No starting price exceptions, eBay Motors “Parts & Accessories” is in, SIF is out. Any fees for listing upgrades still apply (as usual). Check the fine print for more important details.
Bets are already on that we’re going to see another listing promotion before Christmas.

eBay will be launching a new promotion for free Gallery this Tuesday, November 6th until December 12th (yes, that’s 5 weeks!). Not included are eBay Motors, international eBay sites and eBay Stores (among others). More details are available on eBay’s promotion site.

Rumors that eBay will be waiving Gallery image fees permanently in 2008 are unconfirmed.
