Thanks to our restless development team already excited about the upcoming holiday shopping season (even though it may be a tad more challenging then last year’s), we released another batch of enhancements and fixes to ChannelAdvisor Complete. While there are new features across all of our products (MarketplaceAdvisor Premium, StoreAdvisor Premium, SearchAdvisor and ShoppingAdvisor), there are a two that I want to call out.

eBay Custom Item Specifics

With eBay’s transition to a dynamic, community-driven product taxonomy (called Custom Item Specifics), eBay aggregates the most popular attributes and values to help users find what they’re looking for on eBay. For example, if lots of sellers would begin listing their iPods with flavor and specify strawberry, blueberry, steel or dirt, and eBay would detect that users actually search and browse for iPods by taste, it may elect to make “flavor” available as part of its recommended custom item specifics so that more sellers could list with it (and help more buyers find iPods).

We added support for eBay Custom Item Specifics across all product categories and all eBay countries (there are too many to list) so that you can specify these community values and improve your Best Match ranking. Simply review your eBay posting templates under Item Specifics and you may notice a whole new set of attributes you can take advantage of.

Intraday Performance Dashboard

Historical reports are critical to analyzing and understanding your performance and adjusting your business strategy. What was my top seller last month? Which category saw the biggest jump or decline in sales and margins? Which product generated the lowest feedback or highest cancellation rate? What products should I reorder or clear out of my warehouse?

Of course this all gets amplified during the all-important holiday season. With the biggest shopping days of the year coming up, you want to know how you’re doing right now, and how it compares to last week or last year. And our new Intraday Performance Dashboard is just what the doctor ordered.
