Yahoo Announces “Changes to Bidding Information”

I received an email from Yahoo yesterday, like I’m sure many other marketers did, telling me that several interesting pieces of data were going to go the way of the dinosaur. Basically, as Yahoo moves to a more Google like model, they are obscuring pricing and rank information. Here’s what’s going away (Position, Your Cost, and Top 5 Bids):

And here’s what it’s being replaced with:
Estimated Average Position
This displays an estimate of the average position your listing may achieve, based on your bid and the current bids of other advertisers.
Bid Range for Top Positions
This displays the current range of bids other advertisers are willing to pay for the positions at the top of the search results page.
